Summer Winter School - BIP

The first edition of UdA MedChem BIP – “Exploring Medicinal Chemistry: A Hands-On Journey for Future Scientists” has successfully concluded at the Department of Pharmacy of the Università degli Studi “Gabriele d’Annunzio” di Chieti-Pescara.

From June 8–16, 34 students and faculty members from partner universities across Europe came together for an intensive international learning experience, combining online activities, lectures, laboratory training, poster sessions, and research project presentations in the fields of medicinal chemistry and health product development.

Beyond science, the programme fostered cultural exchange, new friendships, and future research collaborations, highlighting the value of European cooperation in educating the next generation of scientists.

The SUMMER SCHOOL – Blended Intensive Programme COMOON will take place at the Pindaro Campus from 6 to 12 July 2026. The initiative is designed to offer PhD candidates and Master’s students in Engineering and Geology an overview of Space Geology and of current construction methods on planets targeted human exploration, mostly focusing on the Moon. All activities will entitle participants to 3 ECTS credits, to be formally validated by the Erasmus+ Office of their respective universities.

The training activities will be held online during the weeks preceding the event – in June – and in person from 7 to 11 July, from 10 a.m. to 16 p.m. The online lectures will provide the theoretical foundations, while the in‑person sessions will show students how to build Lunar and Martian habitat using 3D printers, how to test rocks in the laboratory, and how to explore Mars and the Moon through 3D virtual reality directly from Pescara.

Finally, students will take part in a field excursion to one of the rare sites where traces of celestial‑body impacts on Earth are preserved.

This experience will bring participants closer to the fascinating fields of Space Geology and Planetary Construction Engineering beyond Earth.

The Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) 2026 – Individual Differences in Mind and Brain offers an inspiring international learning experience at the intersection of psychology and neuroscience. Hosted by the University G. d’Annunzio of Chieti-Pescara in collaboration with Stockholm University and Iscte - University Institute of Lisbon, this programme brings together students and scholars across different european countries to explore one of the most fascinating questions in contemporary science: how and why do individuals differ in the way they think, learn, choice and behave?

Through a dynamic combination of online seminars and an intensive on-site week in Chieti, participants will engage with leading international experts in cognitive neuroscience, behavioral science, and advanced quantitative methods. The programme features keynote lectures, hands-on workshops, student-led presentations, and laboratory experiences, offering participants the opportunity to deepen both theoretical understanding and practical research skills.

Beyond academic excellence, the BIP fosters intercultural exchange, collaboration, and scientific dialogue in an engaging social environment, including experiential activities and cultural events. By integrating diverse perspectives on brain and behavioral variability, the programme provides a unique platform for developing innovative approaches to psychological and neuroscientific research.

Il Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) 2026 – Individual Differences in Mind and Brain rappresenta un’esperienza formativa internazionale d’eccellenza all’intersezione tra psicologia e neuroscienze. Promosso dall’Università G. d’Annunzio di Chieti-Pescara in collaborazione con Stockholm University e Iscte - University Institute of Lisbon, il programma affronta una delle questioni più affascinanti della ricerca contemporanea: comprendere come e perché gli individui differiscono nel modo di pensare, apprendere, decidere e comportarsi.

Attraverso un percorso articolato tra seminari online e una settimana intensiva in presenza a Chieti, i partecipanti avranno l’opportunità di confrontarsi con esperti internazionali nei campi delle neuroscienze cognitive, della psicologia sperimentale e dei metodi quantitativi avanzati. Il programma integra lezioni magistrali, workshop pratici, presentazioni degli studenti e attività laboratoriali, offrendo un equilibrio tra approfondimento teorico e sviluppo di competenze applicative.

Oltre alla dimensione accademica, il BIP promuove scambio interculturale, collaborazione scientifica e crescita personale, grazie a momenti di confronto informale, esperienze sul territorio e attività sociali. Un’occasione unica per esplorare la variabilità umana da prospettive innovative e contribuire alla ricerca del futuro.
