Course description & learning objectives

This course is specifically designed for practising clinicians, gastroenterologists and oncologists to review and update their knowledge on the recognition and management of cancers of the gastrointestinal tract.

Learning objectives

screening, and diagnosis of gastrointestinal malignancies.
2. Determine tools for risk assessment and risk reduction through chemoprevention and other
prevention strategies.
3. Describe current and new medical and surgical treatment options for patients with
gastrointestinal malignancies.
4. Comment on new agents (molecular and cytotoxic) for advanced disease and describe new
biologic targets for gastrointestinal cancers.
5. Learn how to combat with the complications of the disease itself and those related to the
therapy
