            Dr. Stein is a Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Toronto and Director of the Bochner Eye Institute. His special interest is contact lenses, anterior segment surgery, and refractive corneal surgery. He has had extensive teaching, writing and lecturing experience. A practicing eye surgeon, he has written and published, along with Dr. Bernard Slatt and Dr. Raymond Stein, five major textbooks related to ophthalmology along with numerous articles for medical journals and a book on tennis. Textbooks published include The Ophthalmic Assistant, presently in its sixth edition, Fitting Guide for Rigid & Soft Contact Lenses in its third edition, Ophthalmic Terminology in its third edition, Primer in Ophthalmology and the Excimer Laser. These are used as standard textbooks. He holds many titles in ophthalmic organizations and has been president of three major ophthalmic societies - CLAO, Canadian Ophthalmological Societv and JCAHPO. He is on the editorial staff of several ophthalmic journals world-wide.
            Dr. Stein has initiated and organized courses for ophthalmic technicians and contact lens technicians in Canada and the United States. He is a recipient of the Honor Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Distinguished Service Award from the City of Scarborough, Ontario, the Statesmanship Anvard of JCAHPO, the Hugh Minor Award from CLAO and the Javal Gold Medal of the International Council of Ophthalmology. He has made scientific presentations world-wide and published over 150 scientific articles in Journals.
