The C. U. S. V. E. (University Center for Victorian and Edwardian Studies) at Pescara University has been estabilished since 1994. It is directed by Prof. Francesco Marroni, who promoted its foundation. Every two years the C. U. S. V. E. organizes international conferences on the Victorian period (in 2004 its theme will be “Victorians and means of transport”).

Since 1996 the "Rivista di Studi Vittoriani" (“Journal of Victorian Studies”)  has been the scientific expression of the C. U. S. V. E. It was founded and it is directed by Prof. Francesco Marroni. The “Rivista di Studi Vittoriani” is issued twice a year and it hosts essays, articles and reviews written by important Italian and International Victorianists.

The C. U. S. V. E. is associated with the “Associazione Italiana di Anglistica” (“Italian Association for English Studies”), with which it organized in March 2003 an international conference titled “Victorian Studies Today: Methods and Perpectives” .

For the next academic years it has planned a series of seminars on the following topics: filming Victorian fiction, science and sensation novels, Victorian poetry and Romantic persistence.
